The Holy Spirit is leading us in some new and exciting directions, as you will see by reading the goals for 2007.  A new direction this year is to launch parish-wide goals as well as initiatives in our focus areas:

• Hospitality
• Worship and Music
• Christian Formation
• Community Service
• Stewardship

Discerning God's will for us is ongoing.  We have been actively engaged in planning for the future --2045 AD--for the last two and a half years.  The first benchmarks to assess progress toward our goals are to be realized by the end of 2008.  It will take active parish support and broad participation in our mission to arrive at the state we visualize.

The process of articulating our mission, vision and goals has already proven valuable in providing guidance for decision-making and focusing resources on our real priorities.  Over sixty parishioners have spent significant time teasing out our identity, visualizing our niche in the Christian community, and developing goals and projects to realize the dream.  I believe the plan will be particularly useful this year as we undertake discerning the ministry of a new rector and spiritual leader to join us on our journey. 

Our planning efforts, the search/discernment/call process and the Vestry's initiatives for the coming year will compliment and support each other to strengthen the parish and, with help from the Spirit, guide us in making the right choices for the future.  This is an important time for parishioners to show their commitment to the work that has been done and to the future we have designed for our parish.  I invite everyone to support our community by praying, by participating, by providing positive energy, and by supporting the efforts of those who give their time to plan and provide programs for this parish.
